2026 DL Harris enjoys West Virginia experience on visit

Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin 2026 defensive end Brian Harris took an unofficial visit to West Virginia and left with a good picture of what the program is all about.

Harris, 6-foot-4, 290-pounds, had held an offer from the Mountaineers since the winter but this experience gave him a chance to get a real picture of what the football program can offer him.

“I really liked the visit. The energy there was real, and the coaches and players showed a lot of love,” he said. “What stood out the most was how tight the d-line group was and how hands-on the coaches were.”

The Rivals.com four-star prospect spent time talking with the coaching staff including defensive line coach William Green and the discussion centered around how they could utilize him within the scheme with a focus on development.

“They kept it real the whole time,” he said.

Harris felt that he fits the defensive scheme well because the Mountaineers want their defensive linemen to be aggressive and make plays which fits what he wants in the structure of a defense.

“I’d have a chance to move around and be disruptive,” he said.

Harris still has visits lined up to Auburn, Penn State and Oklahoma but admitted that this trip definitely helped the Mountaineers and he could certainly see himself coming back to campus for an official visit.

“I just want to say I appreciate how genuine the whole staff was. They made it feel like home,” he said.
