“Still interested” – Fabrizio Romano keeps door open for many Chelsea fans dream signing

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has kept the door wide open for Chelsea to sign one player that the fans would love to see arrive.

The news comes after Chelsea beat Djurgarden 1-0 at Stamford Bridge on Thursday night in the return leg of their Conference League cup semi-final match, winning the overall tie 5-1 – setting up a cup final against Real Betis at the end of this month.

Midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall grabbed the only goal of the game and afterwards he says that him and his team mates really deserve credit for getting to the final, despite the competition not being the strongest one around.

Although Maresca has also hinted that he could end up breaking some hearts with his cup final starting team selection as he goes all out to try and win the final at the end of this month.

Chelsea want a new striker

The Blues will be busy next month when the summer transfer market opens up, and a new striker is going to be the most important signing they will be looking to make.

There have been loads of names linked, with many of them coming up quite a lot, but we are still no clearer yet who they will push for the most.

Victor Osimhen is a name they have been heavily linked with in the past, but not as much for this summer.

Romano on Osimhen

Although he doesn’t mention Chelsea directly, he does say that Premier League clubs are still interested in Osimhen this summer.

Romano said on his latest Here We Go Podcast:

“Victor Osimhen is NOT staying at Galatasaray. The relationship between him and Napoli is over. His release clause is €70m, that remains very clear. Top Premier League clubs are still interested but the issue is his salary. €12m net per year is considered too much. This is why the deal between Chelsea and Osimhen last summer was not close because it was about the salary.”

Perhaps he should think about lowering his demands then he might have more options and have a better club to go to…
