Advarra has integrated its electronic institutional review board (eIRB) system, known as Center for IRB Intelligence (CIRBI), with its single-sign-on-enabled software, Study Collaboration, for visibility into trial site activation.
The integration will establish an automated connection between IRB review status and study startup workflows.
This offers contract research organisations (CROs) and sponsors with centralised visibility into the site activation status, from site choosing to first-patient-in (FPI).
According to Advarra, over 14,000 sites globally utilise its Study Collaboration solution to expedite trial startup works, which include feasibility evaluations, exchange of documents, communication, and trial training on sponsored studies.
The software release claims to provide sponsors and CROs a unified view of site advancements via every startup milestone, inclusive of IRB review status.
Advarra noted that when site teams complete assigned tasks within the solution, milestone tracking is updated automatically.
This allows sponsors and CROs to monitor trial progress more accurately and minimise the burden of repetitive status checks for both site and study personnel.
Advarra's CIRBI platform allows for quicker trial startups, reduces compliance-related risks, and improves oversight of IRB activities.
This assists organisations in expediting clinical research while maintaining the safety of the subject.
Advarra Sponsor Tech Strategy product lead and vice-president Ashley Davidson said: “With Advarra’s IRB services supporting over 60% of clinical trials in North America, we are uniquely positioned to provide sponsors and CROs with greater visibility into site activation.
“By automating IRB review status updates and embedding them directly into Study Collaboration’s milestone tracking capabilities, we have replaced the need for spreadsheets and disconnected systems—empowering study teams to oversee every critical step as it happens and offer faster, more targeted support to sites preparing for enrolment. At the same time, these enhancements ease the administrative burden on sites by streamlining manual tasks and reducing redundant status checks.”
In January this year, the company introduced Study Collaboration to speed up study startup by automating workflows.
"Advarra announces eIRB and Study Collaboration integration for trials" was originally created and published by Clinical Trials Arena, a GlobalData owned brand.
