Amazon Spring Sale travel deals: Score up to 50% off power banks, packing cubes and more

I love to hop on a plane to anywhere, so it makes sense that my specialty is writing about travel. And as much as I love the journey and the destination, both can also pose plenty of challenges and I am forever on the hunt for deep discounts on gear that makes traveling a lot easier. A pair of high-end headphones on deep discount? One charger to rule them all for over 45% off? It never gets old. That's why I'm so excited about Amazon's Big Spring Sale and what it has to offer on the travel deals front. Full disclosure, however: There's not always a huge spring in these savings, but there are still some very impressive bargains hidden in the discount goldmine that I've found a way to uncover over the years — and this time's no different.

Not only are the following 10 picks deal-worthy (steals start at $11) — they're also products backed by frequent flyers and travel experts. From a pair of ultra-comfortable non-slip ballet flats that offer arch support for long days spent sightseeing to a universal travel adapter that can charge up to six devices at once, these picks come highly recommended by those who have logged plenty of miles in the air.

The best travel products to buy in Amazon's Spring Sale

Deals writer Chris McGraw, who's traveled to six continents, always brings a pair of over-the-ear, noise-cancelling headphones on the plane. He calls them a must-have, crediting them with helping him endure and even relax during long flights. And Oprah — who we all know travels extensively — calls these Beats Pro headphones "the best of the best" and includes them on her "Favorite Things" list.

One audiophile Amazon buyer called them "great for travel," noting that they come with a "convenient travel bag with interior pockets for accessories." The same reviewer said the Beats keep "a full charge for long flights (and have) great noise canceling on airplanes." Have sensitive ears? Another buyer said these "are super comfortable over my ears and don’t cause any pain."

Whether you're traveling internationally or heading on a long road trip, a portable power bank should be in your travel bag. McGraw loves this solar-powered pick and even likened it to a truck ad (it's actually pretty fitting): "It's built tough, can withstand any weather (thanks to a high waterproof rating) and can take a beating," he said.

Campers and resort visitors also love this bad boy: "Perfect for an outdoor vacation! Bought (it) to take to an all-inclusive resort in Costa Rica and couldn't be happier," this user wrote. "The ability to charge three devices at once works great since we have friends with us, and the solar charger fills the battery up pretty quick!"

Travel expert Samantha Brown told us that these ballet flats are one of the comfiest travel shoes she's ever worn, noting that the brand uses "a lot of technology in their soles." And considering that Cole Haan shoes are usually pretty pricey, we're happy to see this at a discount. Brown adds that the rounded toe box is a standout feature, and the half-inch heel adds some arch support, which most ballet flats tend to lack.

If you travel with a lot of tech, learn from McGraw's mistakes: Years ago, while on a trip overseas, he noticed that a single travel adapter wasn't going to cut it since he had so much gear to charge — we're talking a phone, camera equipment, laptop and iPad. So, he was forced to shell out more money than he expected on an adapter at a local shop, only to find out later on that this one has everything you'd need all in one.

It can charge up to six devices at once and works in over 150 countries, saving you from buying an overpriced alternative. It also features four types of plugs, as well as several USB ports and an AC socket.

When it comes to travel recommendations, who better to talk to than flight attendants, right? Senior deals writer Britt Ross recently tapped her flight crew buddy Emily, who shared a few of her top picks, and this No. 1 bestselling Hanes hoodie is one of her all-time faves. "You don't need a travel blanket, but bring layers," she said. "A cozy sweater or packable hoodie, anything."

The EcoSmart's travel-friendly details include a hood for freezing out annoying seatmates and pockets for stashing items while you scramble to get through security. And the fact that this zips up? That'll come in handy when you get hot on the plane and need to remove a layer without bonking anyone else on the head. And the price is low enough to buy a few colors.

Flight attendant Emily lists compression socks as another travel non-negotiable, especially for flyers. These socks help alleviate in-flight swelling and discomfort in your feet by encouraging blood circulation, especially if you find yourself sitting for hours at a time. This pack comes in a set of three and you can choose from over 30 colors and combos.

One Amazon reviewer noted that they wore these for two flights longer than 9 hours. "They were perfect! They were not too hard to get on. They were comfortable for those very long travel days. They didn't wrinkle or cut in at the top. I liked them so much I'm getting more, for daily use."

I travel internationally twice a year to visit family and am one of those folks who packs more tech than I need (just in case!). So, my laptop, tablet and phone come with me at all times. To lessen the load in my tech case, I grabbed this three-port charger a couple of years ago, and it's remained one of my favorite tech travel finds to date. In fact, last year, I left it plugged into an outlet at home before a flight and felt like I was missing an arm when I got to my destination and realized I left it behind.

So, if you're sick of always digging through your bag searching for multiple charging adapters, this one covers them all.

"I take it everywhere with me when traveling, and the travel-ability never disappoints," another fellow fan on Amazon wrote. "It charges all my devices pretty fast compared to my other chargers, and it replaced a lot of them. Before, I had three bricks. Now, I only have this one."

The hype surrounding packing cubes is real — just ask travel pro Emily! "It's nice to keep organized when you're constantly packing and unpacking, and you can keep your dirty items separated from your clean items," she explained.

This pack of four from trusted travel accessories brand Bagail has a little extra something — compression zippers. They create a vacuum-sealed effect that flattens each cube even further to allow you to free up more space in your luggage.

You can never be too safe when traveling or staying away from home. Take it from Emily, who notes, "Safety first, always!" This popular portable travel lock that she recommends gives peace of mind in hotel rooms or vacation rentals. It locks any inward-opening door in seconds by placing the metal part into the door strike, closing the door, and then attaching the red piece to the metal piece.

"I'm a flight attendant and am in hotels four (to) five nights a week," one crew member wrote on Amazon. "Sometimes, the 'locks' just don't feel sturdy enough. This device gives me an extra layer of security and allows me to sleep at night. I keep it in my flight bag."

It can be a challenge falling asleep on planes, so investing in a solid neck pillow can help you achieve that in-flight nap. Emily's a firm believer: "I obviously don't use them when I'm working, but get one that you love for traveling. You never know when you'll need it on and off the plane."

This one is made of plush memory foam for a supportive yet comfy surface for your head and neck. Other travel-friendly features? It compresses to half its size for easy stowing and even comes with earplugs and a sleep mask.
