Leading Urgent Care Brand Brings Extended Hours and Cost-Effective Care to Five Additional Communities
, /PRNewswire/ -- American Family Care (AFC), the nation's leading provider of urgent care with nearly 400 walk-in clinics across the United States, is pleased to announce its further expansion in the New England region through the acquisition of five Physician One Urgent Care locations in the Boston area, which were previously owned by Yale New Haven Health Services of Connecticut. The move is the latest sign of AFC's longstanding commitment to increasing accessibility and affordability in healthcare for the residents of Massachusetts.
The newly acquired urgent care centers in Attleboro, Chestnut Hill, Franklin, Medford, and Waltham will be independently owned and operated by Dave Adams and Dr. Kristina Orio – both U.S. military veterans and Boston-area residents. The urgent care centers will join AFC's existing presence in Massachusetts, which includes 30 additional locations across the state. With this acquisition, patients in these communities now have greater access to convenient clinical care for a wide range of conditions that might otherwise require an emergency room visit. Each of the urgent care centers will operate from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., seven days a week, ensuring patients receive timely, high-quality healthcare.
"For more than a decade, AFC urgent care clinics have served countless Boston area residents with accessible and affordable healthcare. We are excited to expand our care and compassion to even more patients in the region through the acquisition of these five locations," said Dave Adams. "Now, more patients in the region can access high-quality, affordable care close to home and work," added Dr. Kristina Orio – a board-certified emergency medicine physician with over 20 years of experience. "Together, Dave and I are committed to continuing to set the standard for high quality urgent care in the region."
This acquisition aligns with AFC's mission to expand access to quality urgent care nationwide and highlights the indelible impact the brand continues to make on healthcare in local communities throughout the country. "At AFC, one of our primary goals is to empower local operators to deliver high-quality care to their communities," says Jeremy Morgan, CEO of American Family Care. "We are excited to expand our presence in New England and to ensure that patients throughout Massachusetts will receive convenient and cost-effective healthcare."
