At least 14 Palestinians killed in fresh Israeli airstrikes across Gaza

GAZA CITY — Israeli airstrikes on Sunday killed at least 14 Palestinians and wounded dozens more across multiple areas of the Gaza Strip, as the military intensified its aerial and ground operations, according to medical sources.

In Khan Younis, four members of a single family were killed when an Israeli warplane bombed a residential apartment in al-Mawasi, medics reported.

A separate strike on a tent sheltering displaced civilians in the same area killed four more people, including three women.

In the al-Amal neighborhood of Khan Younis, a woman was killed and several others injured when a house was hit. Another Israeli strike on a displacement tent in Abasan town, east of Khan Younis, left one person dead and multiple wounded.

Three additional Palestinians died from injuries sustained in earlier Israeli strikes in Khan Younis and Beit Hanoun, according to local hospitals.

In central Gaza, a woman was killed and several people were injured in an airstrike targeting a house in the Nuseirat refugee camp. Separate airstrikes in Khan Younis and Gaza City wounded at least eight more people.

Israeli artillery also shelled the Shujaiya and Al-Tuffah neighborhoods in Gaza City. No casualty figures were immediately available.

Meanwhile, witnesses in Rafah reported ongoing house demolitions by Israeli forces under helicopter gunfire.

Since the start of the war in October 2023, nearly 52,500 Palestinians — the majority women and children — have been killed in the Gaza Strip, according to Gaza’s health authorities.

The International Criminal Court has issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant over alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice. — Agencies
