The Chicago Bears continued reshaping their offensive line on Wednesday after reportedly finalizing a deal to acquire guard Joe Thuney from the Kansas City Chiefs for a 2026 fourth-round pick, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Adding Thuney, 32, a two-time first-team All-Pro, comes a day after they agreed to send a 2025 sixth-round pick to the Los Angeles Rams for guard Jonah Jackson.

The deals will be official when the new NFL year begins on March 12.
Changing the Bears' offensive line was high on the offseason priority list for general manager Ryan Poles, who was the Chiefs' executive director of player personnel during Thuney's first season in Kansas City. Quarterback Caleb Williams was sacked an NFL-high 68 times in his rookie season, a number that will need to decrease if they are looking to improve their 5-12 record last season.
The Chiefs needed to free up salary cap space as they are looking to extend guard Trey Smith after placing a non-exclusive franchise tag on him. Thuney is in the final season of a five-year, $80 million contract, but no guaranteed money remains. He is due a $15.5 million salary in 2025 with a $26.97 million salary cap number.
