Bill Belichick looking to hire actual PR help amid girlfriend drama (report)

The days of Jordon Hudson appearing to run Bill Belichick‘s public relations could be coming to a close.

According to Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, the former New England Patriots coach has been in talks with “at least one” P.R. professional to handle things personally and for his job at North Carolina.

Florio reported that Belichick has been speaking to former Bears vice president of communications Brandon Faber “for a couple of months” about handling P.R.

“The potential assignment encompasses working directly for North Carolina and/or assisting Belichick with non-UNC matters,” Florio wrote.

The report comes after a disastrous run of media coverage for Belichick, particularly when it comes to his girlfriend. Hudson has appeared to operate as Belichick’s de facto PR manager. Her presence became a major issue when she interrupted an interview with CBS to shut down a line of questioning about how she and Belichick met.

Former Patriots star Julian Edelman compared Hudson’s role to that of Berj Najarian, Belichick’s former right-hand man who now works for Boston College.

The relationship between Belichick, 73, and Hudson, 24, has been the subject of public fascination. The high-profile relationship has seen intense national media coverage, to the point where it was the butt of a joke on “Saturday Night Live” this past weekend.
