AMBALA: In a resounding victory, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has secured a decisive win in the Ambala Sadar Municipal Council elections, clinching 25 out of 32 seats, including the council president's seat. Haryana’s energy, transport, and labor minister, Anil Vij, hailed this triumph as a reward for the relentless development efforts undertaken in the region.
Vij expressed gratitude to the electorate for their unwavering support and emphasized his commitment to furthering Ambala Cantonment’s progress. “With the cooperation of all candidates, whether they won or lost, we will take Ambala Cantonment to new heights of development,” he stated.
Reflecting on the state-wide municipal elections, Vij remarked that the people have once again endorsed Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji’s vision of development. “BJP has won in most municipal seats across the state,” he affirmed, underscoring the party’s growing influence in Haryana.
Celebration of victory
Following the landslide win, jubilant BJP supporters celebrated by playing Holi, smearing each other with colorful gulal, and rejoicing in the party’s success.
Vij also highlighted his long-standing connection with the people of Ambala Cantonment, stating, “The people of Ambala Cantonment have set an example by electing me for the seventh time.” He acknowledged the challenges faced during previous elections but credited the unwavering support of the people for his continued political success.
BJP’s dominance in Haryana
Commenting on the broader political landscape, Vij stated, “BJP has won the municipal elections with a clear majority. As I had stated before the elections, I, along with the elected councillors and even those who lost, will work together to take Ambala Cantonment to new heights of development.”
Taking a swipe at the opposition, Vij asserted that the election results have demonstrated the decline of rival parties. “Even in Ambala city, BJP’s candidate has won the mayoral elections. Wherever elections were held in Haryana, BJP has triumphed in most places. This victory proves that opposition parties have been wiped out from Haryana. Their negative politics has been exposed, and the people have rejected them outright,” he said.
When asked about the Congress’s defeat in former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda’s stronghold, Vij stated, “Whether it is Hooda or any other opposition leader, their true face has been revealed to the people, and they have been rejected.”
