Bob Woodruff Foundation and Veterans Bridge Home to Host Annual Summit Focused on Supporting Veterans and Military Families

National and regional leaders will gather to discuss strategies to strengthen support networks across the I-85 Corridor

, /PRNewswire/ -- The Bob Woodruff Foundation, in partnership with Veterans Bridge Home and with generous support from Craig Newmark Philanthropies, will host its annual Summit at The Revelry in Charlotte, NC on March 13, from 8 am to 5 pm. The Summit will be a day of networking and problem-solving with over 300 public, private, and nonprofit sector representatives who will focus on how to build effective support networks for veterans and military families across North Carolina and throughout the I-85 corridor.

Summit speakers and panelists will explore strategies for building and sustaining local networks that collaborate to address social determinants of health for military and veteran families. Participants will hear how aligning with local, state, and federal partners leads to better outcomes and will explore strategies for regional collaboration to fill gaps and strengthen advocacy.

"At the Bob Woodruff Foundation, an important focus is on growing our impact by connecting ideas, people, and resources to better support veterans, service members, and their families," said Anne Marie Dougherty, CEO of the Bob Woodruff Foundation. "The 2025 Summit is a pivotal moment to unite leaders who share a deep commitment to our military community. Through collaboration and innovation, we will develop solutions that not only meet the immediate needs of veterans and military families but also support them for years to come."

The event will feature veterans who share their experiences in their communities; sessions with state and community leaders; and insights from corporate funders. Attendees will also participate in breakout groups and a networking reception sponsored by Pendleton Whisky.

Panel discussions include:

  • Veteran Insights: Speakers will highlight the strengths veterans bring to communities and share data on successful outcomes.
  • Creating Connected Communities: Leaders of veterans serving organizations will discuss successful models of collaboration
  • Enhancing Public Partnerships at the State and Federal Levels: Speakers will share their recommendations on how to engage with VA representatives for maximum community impact.
  • Funders' Insights: Representatives from national organizations will provide perspectives on how to drive innovation through funding partnerships.

"We understand that no single organization can address all the challenges veterans and their families face," said Blake Bourne, Executive Director of Veterans Bridge Home. "This Summit is a critical opportunity to unite leaders across sectors to build stronger networks, share innovative solutions, and create lasting change. Focusing on collective impact ensures our efforts are complementary and transformational for the communities we serve."
