China on Friday rejected accusations levelled by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky who claimed that Beijing has provided weapons to Russia.
China rejects false accusations and political manipulation, spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Lin Jian said.
China has never supplied lethal weapons to either party in the conflict, he stressed, adding that all goods which can be used both for civilian and military purposes are subject to strict checks.
Zelensky on Thursday said that Ukraine has "general information from the SBU intelligence service and reconnaissance" suggesting that China is supplying Russia with "gunpowder and artillery."
He also claimed that representatives of China are producing weapons on Russian territory.
The Ukrainian president said he plans to reveal further details next week.
Ukraine has been defending itself against a full-scale Russian invasion with Western support for over three years.
China, considered the most important partner for Moscow, has consistently emphasized its neutrality in the conflict, stressing that it wants a peaceful solution.
Zelensky had previously accused Beijing of approving the recruitment of Chinese citizens for the Russian army in China.
