Real estate appraisal management company Class Valuation has appointed Chris Flynn as its chief data officer. In the newly created role, Flynn will oversee the company’s data strategy and lead efforts to expand the use of analytics, artificial intelligence and automation in property valuation.
“Chris brings a rare combination of strategic vision and hands-on innovation,” said John Fraas, CEO of Class Valuation. “His experience building data-driven solutions across the housing industry will help us raise the bar in performance and reliability in property valuation.”
Flynn’s work will also focus on using data to improve accuracy and efficiency in home appraisals, an area that has faced increased scrutiny in the housing market, the company said.
“Class Valuation is at a pivotal moment in redefining how data and technology shape the future of property valuation,” he said in a statement. “I’m looking forward to accelerating innovation through a robust data strategy centered on AI, customer-centric product development and solutions that deliver real impact for our clients.”
Flynn has more than two decades of experience in real estate and financial technology. Most recently, he served as head of product and strategy at First American Data & Analytics, where he developed tools for the real estate, mortgage and title sectors.
He previously held senior roles at CoreLogic — now known as Cotality — and Black Knight Data & Analytics, which was acquired by ICE Mortgage Technology.
Class Valuation also just announced its aquisition of Appraisal Nation, a North Carolina-based firm specializing in valuation services for the private lending sector.
