CM Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurates development projects worth Rs 110 crore in Kashipur
NEW DELHI: Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami launched and inaugurated 19 development projects worth Rs 110.56 crore in Kashipur on Sunday. He participated in a grand roadshow before reaching the event venue at the municipal corporation and was welcomed with flower showers and garlands.
At the event, the chief Mminister laid the foundation stone for seven projects costing Rs 48.61 crore and inaugurated 12 projects worth Rs 61.95 crore. The projects include road widening, divider construction, underground electrification, street lighting, and tree plantation from KVR Hospital to Dhanauri and from Business Inn Hotel to Paramanandpur Link Road. Other initiatives involve constructing municipal office buildings, shopping complexes, and essential infrastructure in 17 newly formed municipal wards.
Additionally, plans were announced for a new Circuit House, modernisation of the Kashipur Sports Stadium, and development of Girital Lake with a cycling track, boating facilities, and decorative lighting. A model intermediate girls' school will also be established.
Addressing the gathering, CM Dhami thanked Kashipur’s people for supporting the government and assured them of accelerated development. He emphasised that these projects would improve infrastructure, provide better facilities, and boost economic growth. He credited PM Narendra Modi’s leadership for Uttarakhand’s progress, highlighting improvements in roads, education, healthcare, and cultural preservation.
The government is promoting self-employment through schemes like Lakhpati Didi and Solar Self-Employment. CM Dhami also announced Rs 1,100 crore for an industrial hub and Rs 100 crore for an aroma park. Farmers are benefiting from interest-free loans, increased MSPs, and subsidies on farm equipment.
CM Dhami reiterated the government’s commitment to development, including the revival of the
Jamrani Dam project
, which will benefit Kashipur and surrounding areas. He highlighted Uttarakhand’s top ranking in NITI Aayog’s sustainable development goals and a record reduction in unemployment.
The chief minister reaffirmed his stance against illegal activities, enforcing strict anti-riot and anti-conversion laws. He also noted the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code and strict anti-cheating laws.
During the event, MP Ajay Bhatt and Deepak Bali presented an 11-point demand for Kashipur’s development. CM Dhami handed over house keys to beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and presented a Rs 1.95 crore cheque for the scheme.
Key projects inaugurated included a Rs 14.29 crore
solid waste management facility
, Rs 18.60 crore for municipal construction, and Rs 37.50 crore for an 18 MLD
sewage treatment plant
. Several road reconstruction projects were also announced, along with rainwater harvesting and beautification initiatives.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including MLAs Trilok Singh Cheema, Rajiv Agarwal, Harbhajan Singh Cheema, district magistrate Nitin Singh Bhadoria and SSP Manikant Mishra.
