Delhi govt announces five dry days for liquor shops in April-June quarter

The Delhi government has announced five dry days for the first quarter of the 2025-26 fiscal year, during which liquor shops will remain closed in observance of important religious festivals including Ram Navami and Good Friday.
The dry days are set for April 6 (Ram Navami), April 10 (Mahavir Jayanti), April 18 (Good Friday), May 12 (Buddha Purnima), and June 6 (Eid-ul-Zuha), according to a recent order issued by the city government's excise department as reported by PTI.
This decision was made following provisions of Rule 52 of the Delhi Excise Rules, 2010. Excise Commissioner Sunny Singh confirmed the order, adding that liquor licensees must display the order at a conspicuous place on their licensed premises.
