Now in its eighth year, this scholarship underscores ApolloMD's commitment to fostering the next generation of emergency physicians. It provides financial assistance to help cover educational expenses, allowing recipients to focus on their training for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. This scholarship reflects ApolloMD's dedication to supporting resident physicians eager to pursue their passion for emergency medicine.

The application period opens Friday, March 21, aligning with Match Day 2025—a pivotal moment when medical students nationwide learn where they will complete their emergency medicine residency or fellowship training.
Brittany Garza, DO, ApolloMD's 2024 scholarship winner is a first-generation physician who has dedicated the early years of her medical career to advocacy work, volunteerism, leadership, continuing education and mentoring opportunities for medical students and new physicians. Dr. Garza is a 2022 graduate of the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and served as president of the Michigan Osteopathic Association Council of Interns and Residents (MOA CIR). "Emergency medicine is truly more than a career to me — it is my calling, and I can't wait to continue my medical career pursuing my mission," says Dr. Garza.
Scholarship application details
Qualifying applicants for the ApolloMD scholarship must be members in good standing of a US allopathic or osteopathic medical school. They must also actively train in an emergency medicine residency program or apply for an NRMP position.
Scholarship applicants are evaluated on critical strengths and factors, including their:
- Application & Essay – Demonstrating passion and commitment to emergency medicine
- Academic Achievements – Excellence in medical training and education
- Philanthropy – Dedication to service and community impact
- Leadership – Proven ability to lead and inspire others
- Professional Involvement – Engagement with accredited medical societies and organizations
Resident physicians must submit their applications online by June 15, 2025. The recipient will be announced in August. Good luck to all applicants!
