European Stocks Keep Outperforming
European stocks have outperformed their U.S. counterparts so far this year and that trend looked set to continue Wednesday.
The pan-European Stoxx 600 index climbed 0.8% in morning trading, while Germany’s DAX rose 1.3% and France’s CAC was up 1%.
The DAX has jumped 14% in 2025, significantly outperforming the S&P 500’s 1.3% gain and the Dow Jones Industrial Average’s 2.5% rise. The German election over the weekend has given the country’s blue-chip index another boost, providing some much-needed political clarity.
