Fever Make Bold Prediction After Caitlin Clark, Indiana Roll in Preseason Showcase at Iowa

Despite being just two games into their preseason slate, the Indiana Fever are already feeling themselves, and it's hard to fault them for it.

While there is certainly a new-look element to the franchise, both in the front office and on the bench, the core trio of Caitlin Clark, Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell are all back in 2025. Together they led the Fever to a .500 record (20-20) and a playoff berth (No. 6 seed) for the first time in eight years.

Expectations are considerably higher this season, as Indiana opened among the favorites to capture the WNBA title. The New York Liberty have the best odds to hoist the championship trophy -- which would make them a repeat winner -- but the Fever are close behind, tied with the Las Vegas Aces for the second-best odds at a ring.

Clark, who won Rookie of the Year and earned a spot on the All-WNBA First-Team in her first season in the league, has now been around the block once and has gotten visibly stronger over the offseason.

At just 23 years old, Clark should make a leap in her second WNBA season, as should fellow No. 1 pick Boston in her third professional campaign.

Indiana rolled the Brazil National Team on Sunday, May 4, in an exhibition game held at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City, Iowa -- Clark's home court during the four years she starred with the Iowa Hawkeyes. The Fever took to social media following the contest the with a bold prediction on the dominance the team envisions defining its immediate future.

"A glimpse of what's to come 👀," the Fever's official X account wrote under a video montage of Clark's return to Iowa with her Indiana teammates. "108 points and a big win in our trip to Iowa City."

Clark finished the day with 16 points, six rebounds and five assists, as the Fever won by 64 points. Indiana is now 2-0 this preseason after besting the Washington Mystics in the opener by a score of 79-74 in overtime.

The Fever take the court next on May 10 in a road contest against the Atlanta Dream.
