Ford Mustang GTD Can Sell For Well Over $600,000

While there’s been a lot of news lately about the Ford Mustang GTD being the fastest production American car to lap the Nurburgring in Germany, what many don’t understand is just how much it will cost. A new leak claims that with the exclusive pony car optioned up, it will set owners back well over $600,000.

This guy could’ve used a GTD instead of a Mustang EcoBoost.

To put that into perspective, if you want to buy a new 2025 Porsche 911 GT3, base MSRP is about $222,500. That’s a lot of cash. If you really want the full enchilada, the GT3 RS will set you back around $244,000 or so.

That’s significant because Porsche took a 911 GT3 with a manual transmission, not the quicker PDK, and beat the Mustang GTD’s original Nurburgring lap time. Ford, in a huff, went back to the Nordschleife and shaved a few seconds off the first time.

While it beat the 911 GT3, that car didn’t have the PDK and it wasn’t an RS model. And it costs roughly a third of the Ford’s price. Ouch.

We know there are people who are so loyal to the Blue Oval or just want to only buy American cars they will gladly pop out for this expensive Mustang. Considering production should be capped at only a few hundred per year and the run might only last a couple of years, Ford doesn’t need a lot of people willing to pony up the cash.

Still, we can’t get over that the Mustang GTD can sell for about what you would pay for a new Lamborghini Revuelto or a Ferrari 812 Competizione. We always thought one of the appealing things about Mustangs was they were affordable performance cars.
