Community Relations Strategist Role Aims to Raise Awareness of TCFD's Presence in Local Community
, /PRNewswire/ -- The Center for Discovery (The Center, TCFD) is pleased to announce that former longtime New York State Assemblywoman Aileen Gunther will become a consultant for the organization. In her new role as a Community Relations Strategist, Gunther will bring with her a decades-long background in both public service and healthcare to help reinforce The Center's presence and engagement within the local Sullivan County community where it is currently the largest employer, with over 1,700 staff.
Aileen Gunther served as the representative for the 100th District, encompassing Orange and Sullivan Counties in the New York State Assembly for over two decades and retired in late 2024. Throughout her expansive career, she was known for her fierce advocacy and dedication to improving the lives of her constituents. She has been a tireless champion for increased funding for schools and fire departments, expanded access to healthcare, and tax relief for middle-class New Yorkers.
In addition to her role as former Assemblywoman, Gunther is a registered nurse with over 25 years of healthcare experience. She served as the Director of Performance Improvement and Risk Management at Garnet Health Medical Center - Catskills prior to entering the Assembly. Her healthcare background, combined with her advocacy work, reflects her lifelong commitment to caring for all individuals.
As Community Relations Strategist at The Center for Discovery, Gunther will work in collaboration with the Office of Strategic Outreach and Partnerships, leveraging her skills to build and nurture key relationships with local leaders, businesses, organizations, and residents. Her role will be pivotal in strengthening The Center's impact on a local community level, developing partnerships, and raising awareness of its mission and programs.
