At least 73 people were killed during Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip over the course of Wednesday, according to the Hamas-controlled health authority.
The figures do not distinguish between civilians or combatants and cannot be independently verified.
The Palestinian news agency Wafa reported deadly attacks in Khan Younis in the south and in Al-Sawaida in the central Gaza Strip.
Additionally, reports said there were many fatalities in Jabalia in the north of the territory when an Israeli airstrike hit a clinic operated by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).
"The only thing that can stop our further advance is the release of our hostages," said Israel's Chief of General Staff Herzi Halevi, according to an Israeli army statement, during a troop visit in Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.
