Hansi Flick responds to Barcelona star’s exit links: ‘It’s up to him’

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has on Saturday spoken out on the mounting media speculation surrounding the future of Ansu Fati.

The name of wide-man Ansu has of course taken its place centre stage in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital across the day to date.

This comes amid widespread confirmation that the 22-year-old is on the verge of a fresh loan departure from Spanish champions Barca.

As per transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, amongst others, Ansu is closing on an imminent move to France, with AS Monaco.

🚨🇲🇨 Ansu Fati has already accepted in principle to join AS Monaco, as revealed this morning. He’s keen on the move.

❗️ Understand Monaco and Barça are negotiating on fee lower than reported €20m but with an important sell-on clause.

Speaking during a press conference on Saturday afternoon, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of Ansu’s situation was quickly put to boss Hansi Flick.

And the German tactician made use of the opportunity to put the onus firmly on the Spanish international himself.

“It’s not me deciding on Ansu Fati’s future,” Flick began. ”It’s him, it’s up to Ansu.”
