Jahmyr Gibbs, David Montgomery Turn Heads in Commercial for Iconic Detroit Brand

The Detroit Lions' running back duo of Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery played well enough to receive new nicknames last season with coach Dan Campbell's team (Sonic and Knuckles) which have since stuck and raised the profile of each player.

The Lions got bad news on Monday in the form of center Frank Ragnow's retirement, which could make life a little more difficult for the duo next season in Motown.

On Tuesday, Gibbs and Montgomery were given the spotlight treatment on X as video of a new commercial for an iconic Detroit soda (called "pop" in Detroit) brand surfaced to the delight of fans online.

"Gibbs and Montgomery didn't just visit; they claimed their crowns," Detroit based Faygo wrote on X Tuesday.

"Two of Detroit's finest have officially joined the House of Faygo. Let the season of flavor begin!" the brand wrote with four hashtags.

The commercial was viewed over 2,600 times as of early Tuesday afternoon as Gibbs and Montgomery enjoyed a party at the house.

Faygo was founded in 1907 in Detroit as Feigenson Brothers Bottle Works by Russia baker immigrants Ben and Perry Feigenson.

The brand is known for its unique flavors that have become mainstays in the Detroit area including Red Pop, Moon Mist, Cotton Candy, Rock N' Rye and others.

The company's drinks are sold throughout the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic and Central Southern regions of the United States in both glass and plastic bottles, in sizes ranging from 20-ounce singles to two-liter family size bottles.
