Two Alpha jets of the French Air force's aerobatics display team collided near Saint-Dizier in eastern France during a training exercise on Tuesday, Defence Minister Sébastien Lecornu reported.
The Patrouille de France pilots were able to eject, media reports said. Emergency services were at the scene, the reports said.
Saint-Dizier, which lies some 200 kilometres east of Paris, is home to a French airbase.
