SRINAGAR:

Kashmiri Pandit Sagarash Samiti

(KPSS) on Wednesday rejected the narrative that rising tourist footfall in the valley is a sign of peace and demanded to set up a “truth and justice commission” to investigate crimes against

Kashmiri Pandits

and to work for their rehabilitation.

Sanjay Tickoo

said.
Seeking a

truth and justice commission

, he said, “Justice is not just about punishing the guilty; it is about acknowledging the truth. Without this, any talk of reconciliation and rehabilitation remains a hollow, meaningless exercise.”
He, however, praised the state assembly for discussing the buried and painful issue of Kashmiri Pandits’ rehabilitation. “Unlike many others who merely seek votes by exploiting the agony of our community, these leaders had the courage to bring the matter to the table,” Tickoo said.

He also slammed the old political habit of lebelling their struggle as “anti-national” and dragging Pakistan into the discussion. “This blatant attempt to divert and dilute the issue is not only irresponsible but also an insult to the thousands who suffered, bled, and perished,” Tickoo said.
