Lakers A sweep doubleheader with Great Falls

The Kalispell A Lakers bats came alive in their doubleheader with the Great Falls Chargers, taking game one 10-4 and completing the sweep with a 13-1 victory at Archie Roe Field on Sunday. 

George Schwan earned the win for Kalispell (4-6-1) in game one, spinning six strong innings of one hit ball, with no earned and fanning six. The Lakers pitching staff only allowed the one hit and all of the Chargers runs scored were on walks or errors. 

Tait Orme started the scoring for the Lakers, on an RBI single to left field and Jake Hale added scored a run on a fielder’s choice to give them an early 2-0 lead. Lakers added three more runs in the second inning on Beau Schutlz double and another RBI single from Orme as they scored in every inning. 

Miles Arrowsmith added two hits, scoring and driving in a run. Connor Rudolph recorded the only hit for the Chargers (4-7-1) and Austin Rains drove in their only run; a sacrifice bunt in the fourth inning.

It was more of the same in game two, with Beau McEwen throwing a complete game with five hits, no earned runs and four strike outs as the game was called after five innings due to the run rule. 

Orme added two more hits, including a 2-run double in the first inning where the Lakers jumped out to an early 6-0 lead. Orme finished with two RBIs and two runs scored. Liam Rech and Beau Schultz added a pair of hits, and each crossed the plate twice. The 1-through-3 order of the Lakers lineup combined for six hits, six runs and five RBIs. 

Tristen Brummett went 2-for-2 out of the seventh spot for the Chargers. Three different players added singles as they were held without an extra-base hit in both games. Brady Lewis scored the only run.
