The Duchess of Sussex channels her inner Martha Stewart with these whimsical, affordable garden-party finds, from $23.
With love, Anthropologie. I spy a honey pot, table runner and napkins from the boho-chic retailer. (Netflix)
Meghan Markle has been in full domestic goddess mode, with her sell-out-in-seconds brand As Ever and a Netflix show that's basically an extended montage of her hosting, baking and casually sprinkling edible flower buds on frittatas.
While watching With Love, Meghan, Markle's new Netflix show/campaign to be Martha Stewart's successor, I've been doing the noble work of pausing frames, squinting at countertops and zooming in on tablescapes to identify exactly which pieces the Duchess of Sussex uses. I was utterly delighted to find that most of them don't come with royal price tags.
Sure, she loves to live large like anyone else in her income bracket, but sprinkled among the splurges are some surprisingly affordable finds, many of them from Anthropologie. Think cheerful napkins, whimsical table runners and a $23 honey pot that would charm the bees out of Frogmore Cottage.
Giving your home the royal treatment doesn't have to be a fairy tale. Every Anthropologie gem we tracked down rings up under $60.
Say you're a royal without saying you're a royal. Beekeeping is a Buckingham Palace-approved pastime enjoyed by Princess Kate, Queen Camilla and, as it turns out, Meghan Sussex (as she clearly communicated to Mindy Kaling).
The Duchess houses her freshly harvested honey in this hive-shaped glass pot, which you can see in the background above her cutlery drawer when she hosts Kaling (and, yes, you can see it when she's putting flower sprinkles on the frittata). It includes a wooden dipper, which makes it delightfully practical at tea time. (Do they have tea time in Montecito?)
Those little ladybug crostini probably stole the show for most, but the whimsical table setting is what caught my eye. Meghan and Mindy's garden party for their kids was charming, sure, but I was enchanted by the fairy-tale flourishes on the table.
These are the exact napkins that were folded on each plate, but they come in eight other colors, from springy Lavender to chic Paprika.
Why don't I have more table runners? They're so sophisticated and give your table such an elegant, cohesive look.
Markle (Sussex?) paired this stunner with those charming napkins we just mentioned and, like those napkins, it comes in nine coordinating colors.
While everyone else was probably examining those impressive flower sprinkles, I was looking at these bowls as Meghan prepped her rainbow fruit plates. She had the Assorted Spring set shown here, but there are two other color combos: Assorted Neutrals and Natural Shades.
She used these bowls for prep and, indeed, their size and weight make them ideal for the task. I definitely wouldn't stop there, however. While Meghan probably wouldn't approve, they seem like the most excellent of vessels for Cinnamon Toast Crunch, or a hearty helping of ice cream. The latter could maybe even be drizzled with some of those apricot preserves she just whipped up!
