New Hires Bring Decades of Innovative Customer-Focused Experience in Marketing and IT as MGMA Deepens its Commitment to Helping Medical Practices Grow

Julia brings more than 20 years' experience leading transformational technology initiatives to the MGMA team. Most recently, she served as Chief Information Officer at Pera Healthcare, a private equity-funded post-acute care provider, and as Chief Technology Officer for Centura Health, a $5B health system, where she helped stand up technology for Colorado's COVID Mass Vaccination sites. Prior to becoming a healthcare IT executive, Julia spent 15 years in technology consulting and advised clients on all aspects of healthcare IT, including electronic medical records (EMRs), data & analytics, cloud & platform modernization, enterprise architecture, IT service management, revenue cycle integrity and information security. She is passionate about providing modern, seamless experiences for patients and families, as well as promoting women in technology. Julia also serves on the board of directors for the Colorado Chapter of HIMSS (the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society).

Sam Shaheen comes to MGMA with over 18 years' experience in leading marketing teams in various industries, including healthcare and most recently, the financial sector. Prior to this role, Sam led marketing at Aegis Financial, helping them achieve 20% year-over-year growth through strategic and cultural changes tied to a refocus on customer needs. He also worked with healthcare marketing teams at Jogan Health, a pandemic vaccine provider, and DNA Vibe, a health device company.
