Milan Futuro 3-2 Campobasso: Camporese the big hero after late drama

It looked like Milan Futuro were going to squander a lead once again, conceding a 2-2 equaliser in the 92nd minute, but Michele Camporese found the winner three minutes later.

Following the defeat against Arezzo last weekend, Milan Futuro dropped to last place in the B group of Serie C. As such, the confidence wasn’t the best as they headed into today’s clash against Campobasso, but it ended pretty well.

Francesco Camarda opened the scoring after 23 minutes, getting to the ball before the Campobasso goalkeeper. The pass from Simone Branca, who arrived in January, was absolutely wonderful and did most of the job for the striker.

Just before the half-time break, Gabriele Alesi doubled the lead for Oddo’s side with a lovely finish on the edge of the box. The goalkeeper didn’t have the best position and the Milan forward certainly acknowledged that.

Just ten minutes into the second half, however, Campobasso pulled one back through Alfredo Bifulco and thus made the game a bit more interesting (for the neutral we mean). The away side had some momentum after that, but were unable to find another goal immediately after.

Milan pushed back and managed to create some chances, including a header from the substitute Andrea Magrassi. However, it was Campobasso that took control in the final stages of the game and they got their reward.

In the 91st minute, Mattia Malaspina touched the ball with his hand inside the box and the referee pointed to the spot. Antonio Di Nardo made no mistakes and converted the penalty, making it 2-2 and another late goal conceded was a fact for the Futuro.

Incredibly enough, throwing everything forward in an attempt to restore the lead, another January signing Michele Camporese found the back of the net with a great strike. He certainly made the most of the header down, lovely goal!

A huge win for Milan Futuro and Oddo, who have jumped from 20th to 18th place as a result in the standings.
