Los Angeles Angels right fielder Mike Trout returned from injury on Friday. Suffering a left knee bone bruise against the Seattle Mariners on April 30, Trout missed nearly a month, making his return against the Cleveland Guardians this past weekend.
In three games against Cleveland (two starts) Trout went 5-for-10 with two RBIs. He also made multiple hard outs, which has been a theme for him this season, as his expected stats well outrank his actual numbers.
Staying in good form on Monday in his first at-bat against the Boston Red Sox, Trout crushed a 454-foot three-run home run over the Green Monster at Fenway Park.
For Trout, this was the 388th home run of his career and 10th of the 2025 MLB season. This marked the 13th different time in his future Hall of Fame career that Trout reached double-digit homers in a season. MLB reacted to this news with a post on X.
"Mike Trout has a 10+ HR season for the 13th time in his career!" the league exclaimed.
The only two times in Trout's career where he did not reached at least 10 home runs are 2011 and 2021. In 2011 he played just 40 games after being called up from the Minor Leagues for the first time, and in 2021 he played just 36 games due to injury.
One of the greatest players ever, Trout's career statistical totals have been limited due to injuries, but his overall numbers are among the best in MLB history.
