Logan Ryan doesn't seem to know what grade he wants to give the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at this point.
Some analysts are overly critical of a team's offseason. Others sometimes have blinders on and will grade on the side of positivity. Neither side is necessarily wrong.
For the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, they had a successful offseason by adding key players across the board to positions of need.
Former Buccaneers defensive back Logan Ryan, though, remains unconvinced they did enough. Now working as an analyst for CBS Sports, Ryan gave the Buccaneers a C+ for what they've accomplished this offseason.
His reasoning, though, was beyond bizarre.
"I love Egbuka. A good kid. Loves the game. Obviously they're trying to get the most explosive offense in football with him and Tez Johnson," Ryan said. "They're getting some good character guys. They got some fits and some good parts. I think they've had a really good offseason so far."
Wait...so if they had a really good offseason, that only merits a C+? Ryan did go on to say he was a tough grader, but it just seems that he backtracked all the concerns he might have had to begin with.
And it makes his assessment of what the Buccaneers did this offseason one of the more bizarre throughout the entire league.
Tampa Bay has won four straight division titles and is on pace for a fifth now. If the team is able to become a Super Bowl contender, their offseason additions will be the key to that.
According to Ryan, he's unsure if they have enough, though.
