, /PRNewswire/ -- Paralyzed Veterans of America has concluded its eighth annual Wheelchair Rugby Invitational in Louisville, Kentucky, where the prestigious Code of Honor Cup was awarded to the winners of each division. The champions included the WWAR Generals, WASA/CKRI Lightning, and MedStar NRH United.

Over the past four days, 20 teams from across the country battled it out in three divisions in a fast-paced, round-robin competition. Teams competed in 50 intense matchups, all leading to the crowning of this year's three Code of Honor Cup winners. The tournament field was stacked with talent, featuring nine athletes who previously competed in the 2024 Paris Paralympics. Photos from the event can be seen here.

"This year marks a major milestone with our Rugby Invitational now considered the largest wheelchair rugby event in the country," said Fabio Villarroel, Director of PVA Sports and Recreation. "PVA is incredibly proud of the growth of this tournament and honored to congratulate all the winning teams. The Invitational continues to unite athletes from across the nation, break down barriers, and demonstrate the power of adaptive sports in changing lives. We are honored to host an event of this caliber and remain committed to empowering more athletes with disabilities."
