NEW DELHI: RSS general secretary

Dattatreya Hosabale

on Sunday said that people with an "

invader mindset

" pose a threat to India. He questioned the glorification of historical figures like

Mughal emperor Aurangzeb

while icons like his brother Dara Shikoh, who promoted social harmony, remain overlooked.
"If there are people with an invader mentality, then they are a danger to the country," Hosabale said, making it clear that India must align itself with those who embody its

cultural ethos

rather than those who stood against it.
On the issue of

religion-based reservations

, Hosabale said that such provisions are unconstitutional and contradict the principles laid out by

Dr BR Ambedkar

. "Religion-based reservation is not possible; it is allowed only for backward classes within a religion, as seen in Karnataka, Maharashtra, and other states. Anybody implementing religion-based quotas is going against the architect of our Constitution," he stated.
Addressing the role of the RSS in political discourse, Hosabale clarified that the organisation does not engage in daily political debates. "Those in politics can make statements about these things every day; it is their activity. The Sangh cannot comment on matters without an official draft or published stance," he said.

Speaking on Ram Temple's last year inauguration in Ayodhya, Hosabale dismissed suggestions that the RSS claims credit for the grand structure. "The Ram Temple in Ayodhya is not an RSS achievement, but a victory of society as a whole," he said.
