Referees Facing Backlash For No-Call Against Nikola Jokic During Thunder-Nuggets Game

The NBA's second round continued into the late hours of the night in America's heartland on Tuesday as the Denver Nuggets and Oklahoma City Thunder dueled at Paycom Center in Oklahoma City.

The Thunder rode a masterful 34-19 fourth quarter to their third victory in the series, with one more needed in three games to advance to the Western Conference Finals.

The game was notable not just for its 112-105 final score but also for a series of questionable calls against Denver Nuggets Serbian superstar Nikola Jokic, who was shown being grabbed by the jersey and under the armpits in still photos and videos after the game.

Fans cried foul as they took stock of what they viewed as a friendly whistle for Oklahoma City, leading to the Nuggets' third loss of the series thus far.

"Joker tried to break free," the page Bleacher Report wrote as fans discussed and dissected the game on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The video post showed Jokic getting grabbed under the armpit, unable to move. A foul was called on Jokic, which set fans off in the comments section.

"The refs hate that man," a fan comment read.

"How was that a foul on Jokic?" another asked.

"This is why we're saying Nuggets vs. refs btw," another said.

"This is genuinely the worst call I can remember in the NBA," another added.

The Nuggets will now head back to the Mile High City for Thursday night's contest against the Thunder, which will give Jokic and company an opportunity to right the ship in anticipation of a possible Game 7 this Sunday.
