NEW DELHI: Two sports training academies backed by tennis star Rohan Bopanna and archer
Sanjeeva Singh
— the
Rohan Bopanna Tennis Development Foundation
and the
Sanjeeva Singh Archery Institute Trust
, respectively — have been granted registration under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010, enabling them to receive donations from abroad.
Tennis icon Rohan Bopanna — the only Indian other than Leander Paes, Mahesh Bhupathi and Sania Mirza to win a grand slam — had founded Rohan Bopanna Tennis Academy (RBTA) in Bengaluru. Established in March 2016, the RBTA offers access to a progressive tennis coaching programme. With professional coaches overseeing the programme and special inputs from globally qualified fitness trainers, the RBTA offers a balanced curriculum -- with equal emphasis on fitness and sports skills for young children looking to play tennis, as per its website.
Sanjeeva Singh Archery Institute Trust was founded by archer Sanjeeva Singh who, as per the institute’s website, has won 18 international medals and 44 national medals during his career and thereafter, as a coach, helped other archers win 95 international and 705 national medals. The institute claims to be dedicated to nurturing world-class archers and promoting the sport of archery across India. Their first archery center was established at Srinet Global School, Kanhauli, Deoria, Uttar Pradesh.
