Sarah Jessica Parker long ago lestablished herself as a style and beauty avatar, so when she gushes about something, we take notice. Earlier this month on Instagram, the And Just Like That star posted a quick video about Tarte's Maracuja Juicy Lip Plump and mused, "Oh Tarte, what have you done? It's a new day." In the caption, Parker even thanked her makeup artist for introducing her to the internet-famous lip product.
This is one lip product that you don't need a mirror (or even lip liner) to apply. Swipe it on bare lips or on top of your favorite lipstick for a glossy, non-sticky wash of color.
While Carrie Bradshaw may walk around in thousand-dollar Manolos and carry wishlist-level Fendi baguettes, this is one Parker-approved beauty essential that's a lot more attainable. Retailing for $27 (or $15 for a travel-size), Maracuja Juicy Lip Plump is a lip balm, gloss, color and hydrating treatment that also, um, plumps your lips. That's right; this is one of those elusive does-it-all products.
According to Tarte, Parker isn't the only fan of this lippie. They sell one of these every six seconds, and honestly, it's easy to see why. For starters, the application couldn't be easier. It can be clicked up like a pen and swiped across lips for a subtle wash of color or layered on to build intensity.
Plus, this formula is packed with hydrating hyaluronic acid and over 10 superfruits, which work to moisturize and to smooth the appearance of lip lines. And since this product straddles the duties of a lipstick, gloss and balm, it's not sticky at all. Available in 44 shades, Tarte's Maracuja Juicy Lip Plump is vegan, dermatologist-tested and made without mineral oils, parabens and gluten.
"I love these!! I have several in different shades and keep a few in my bag, a few in my desk at work and one by my bed. Best thing ever for lips," reported this raving reviewer.
Smooched this shopper: "The consistency is light but stays in place. Gives a hydrated appearance. Easy application. No sticky feeling. This is my new favorite lip product!"
"Gorgeous texture, leaves the lips feeling plumped... I feel like a diva whenever I wear it. Cannot wait to try the other ones," exclaimed a final fan.
However, it is worth noting that this stuff is very soft (or, as some reviewers say, "goopy"), so you'll want to apply it with light pressure. Also, while this formula does plump your lips, you won't experience the typical burning sensation that usually accompanies plumping glosses; it's more of a light tingle.
We're not privy to which hue is SJP's fave, but you can choose from more than 40 buildable shades.
