The Los Angeles Rams and head coach Sean McVay made the playoffs last season and pulled off a wild card upset over the Minnesota Vikings. After that win, they went on to lose in the divisional round of the playoffs to the Philadelphia Eagles by a final score of 28-22.
Despite the loss in the playoffs, the Rams proved that they're still a contender in the NFC. Heading into the 2025 season, the franchise is looking to take another step forward.
While training camp and the preseason are coming up quickly, Los Angeles may not be done with offseason moves. McVay and company are always looking at ways to improve the roster and their Super Bowl chances.
One potential avenue to improvement could be pulling off a trade with the Miami Dolphins to bring Jalen Ramsey back to the Rams.
Throughout the course of the offseason, Ramsey has been talked about as a potential trade candidate. McVay was asked about potentially trading for the veteran star cornerback and he had a very intriguing response that hinted at potential interest.
“He is a total stud, and you look at, obviously he has continued to play at a really high level. He and I have kept in great touch even since we ended up trading him to Miami," McVay said.
"Special competitor, great person, great father. And so there are a lot of layers when you’re talking about a player of his caliber. ‘All right, with regards to the contract, the compensation that they would be looking for in exchange for receiving a player of his magnitude.’ And so those conversations are ongoing, as I’m sure they are with multiple teams. And we’ll see, but we’re never going to shy away from opportunities to increase the competitiveness of our roster or add great players as long as it fits within the framework of everything that an acquisition like that would entail.”

Ramsey played another solid season in 2024 with the Dolphins. He appeared in 17 games, recording 60 total tackles to go along with a sack, two interceptions, and 11 defended passes.
Los Angeles could use more help in the secondary. The Rams may not pursue a trade for Ramsey, but it would make a ton of sense if they were able to get something done.
