, /PRNewswire/ -- Startup Nation Central, in partnership with the ICAR organization—Israel's Collective Action for Resilience — and Bezyl, launched the Israeli technology companies in the mental health field landscape map for 2025. The map presents technological solutions in mental health in Israel that help with coping with trauma, strengthening personal and social resilience, and expanding access to mental health treatments. The map features technological solutions in Israel that help cope with trauma, strengthen personal and social resilience, and broaden access to mental health treatments. It includes around 120 companies offering responses to mental health needs, aiming to expand tailored solutions to meet the immediate, widespread demand—especially considering the past year since the events of October 7. The map was launched as part of a multidisciplinary initiative led by the ICAR Collective, aiming to develop and scale trauma rehabilitation solutions grounded in scientific research and technology.

According to data from the Startup Nation Finder business information platform, 2024 saw an increase in both investor confidence and funding within the mental health technology field, following a dip in activity during 2023. The recovery in 2024 in mental health was substantial and increased by 66% to $123M in private funding, demonstrating resilience and renewed investor interest. 85% of mental health technology startups are in early development stages—a relatively high figure compared to the broader health sector (65%). This reflects a particularly high growth rate and emphasizes the need for ongoing financial support to further expand offerings and deepen research in the field.

The map presents the main sub-fields in mental health across four main categories:

Self-Care – tools and technologies that enable people to proactively manage their mental health; Mental Health Research – innovation focusing on early diagnosis, personalized psychiatry, and machine learning technologies; Managed Care Platforms – systems that connect patients and therapists through digital or hybrid solutions; Workflow Automation – AI-based solutions to reduce administrative burden and improve therapeutic efficiency.

Despite economic and security challenges, 2024 has proven to be a year of forging strategic partnerships and advancing technological initiatives in mental health. The accelerated project growth, coupled with renewed investor confidence, suggests significant expansion potential for Israel's mental health ecosystem—particularly in trauma care and resilience-building for broader communities.

Israel's mental health crisis calls for coordinated, immediate action to leverage technological innovation in this sector. Several pivotal steps are required to grow the field and harness existing knowledge and innovation: firstly, expanding digital treatment options by integrating AI and automation solutions into legislation and national health policy; concurrently, intensifying public information campaigns and trauma awareness through digital psychoeducational programs and community initiatives; focusing on early detection of mental health trends through data analytics to prevent crises from escalating; increasing investment in both established and emerging startups to support research, development, and widespread adoption of existing solutions; and finally, promoting international collaborations, drawing on Israel's expertise in trauma care to assist global communities grappling with wars, disasters, and mass-casualty events.
