Stock Futures Rise. Market Braced as China Ramps Up U.S. Trade Tensions.
U.S. stocks looked set to gain Tuesday, with investors still trying to make sense of President Donald Trump’s ever-changing trade policies.
Stock futures were struggling for direction Tuesday, with investors fretting that tensions between the U.S. and China could escalate into a full-blown trade war after Beijing reportedly ordered airlines not to accept any more deliveries of Boeing jets.
Futures tracking the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 32 points, or 0.1%. S&P 500 futures were up 0.2%, and contracts tied to the Nasdaq 100 added 0.3%. All three of the blue-chip indexes had finished higher the previous session for a two-day winning streak.
