Stocks Open Lower. Tariff Threats Outweigh Good News on the Economy.
Stocks were falling on Thursday after the latest tariff threats overshadowed a wave of upbeat economic data.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 108 points, or 0.3%. The S&P 500 was down 0.5%. The Nasdaq Composite was down 1%.
The yield on the 2-year Treasury note rose to 4.01%, while the 10-year yield was up to 4.35%.
