The No.1 QB/WR duo for 2025 Plays in the Big 12

The praise and recognition continue to roll in for the Arizona State football program. According to Brad Crawford of 247Sports, Sun Devils quarterback Sam Leavitt and wide receiver Jordyn Tyson are the top quarterback/receiver combination in college football for 2025.

Last season, the talented Leavitt and Tyson combination was a big reason the Sun Devils won 11 games and won a Big 12 championship. They also earned a berth in the expanded college football playoff.

Leavitt passed for over 2,800 yards and accounted for 29 total touchdowns, and only six interceptions. As a result, Leavitt was named the Offensive Freshman of the Year in the Big 12.

Tyson was equally productive in 2024, catching 75 of Leavitt’s passes for 1,101 yards and 10 scores. He went over the century mark five times last season, including three consecutive weeks against Kansas State, BYU and Arizona. For his efforts, Tyson was named the Big 12 Conference Offensive Newcomer of the Year.

Without Cam Skattebo, the passing game should see an increase in production. Leavitt won 80 percent of his games against ranked opponents. Against Iowa State in the conference title game, Leavitt accounted for four touchdowns and put himself on the college football map.

Coach Kenny Dillingham’s team culture machine is a big reason why Tyson did not enter the transfer portal. That is a huge boost for Leavitt and the Arizona State offense. When Big 12 Media Days comes around this summer, the Sun Devils should be picked as the favorite to win the Big 12 championship again in 2025.
