A Year-Long 40^th Anniversary Celebration is Planned

To mark this milestone, the company is launching a year-long celebration that honors a legacy built on trust, respect and loyalty. Founded in 1985 by Dr. Dominic "Doc" and Lucille Tutera, the organization has grown into a nationally recognized industry leader driven by its guiding principle of doing right by the people it serves.

Headquartered in Kansas City, Tutera added more than 270 employees in the Kansas City metro last year, bringing its headcount there to 1,400 employees. From 2023 to 2024, the company expanded its facility portfolio and Midwestern footprint by 34% after it acquired 45 senior living properties in Kansas, Iowa and Nebraska. The festivities kick off with "Founder's Spirit Week" (April 21-27, 2025), a tribute to Doc's enduring values of integrity, respect, hospitality and positivity. Special resident and employee appreciation events throughout the week will reflect on the legacy Tutera carries forward.

• Time Capsule Dedication: During "Founder's Spirit Week," employees and residents at all Tutera communities will contribute meaningful items that capture the essence of today's world. From personal treasures like letters and photos, to cultural artifacts like newspapers and technology, the time capsule will provide a snapshot of life in 2025. This collection will offer a window into who we are, what matters to us, and how we live. It will serve as a bridge to future generations, allowing them to better understand and appreciate the progress that lies ahead.
• Resident, Employee and Partner Appreciation Events: Celebrations such as a "Dance Through the Decades" party, a family portrait day, volunteer service days, family picnics and "You Only Live Once" days when residents fulfill a personal dream.
• Team Member Recognition: A special awards ceremony in November will honor employees whose dedication and service exemplify the company's core values.
