The 45-day-long

Maha Kumbh 2025

concluded on Maha Shivratri on Wednesday, but devotees continue to visit Prayagraj’s Triveni Sangam for a holy dip.
PM Modi on Maha Kumbh’s significance
PM Modi described the Maha Kumbh as a symbol of unity and a reflection of the nation’s evolving consciousness.

"The Maha Kumbh has concluded. A great ritual of unity was completed. When the consciousness of a nation awakens, breaking free from the shackles of centuries of slavery mentality and begins to breathe with new vitality, such a scene emerges as we witnessed in the Kumbh of unity at Prayagraj after January 13," he said.

He also linked the event to national devotion, referring to the consecration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22, 2024.
"On January 22, 2024, at the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, I spoke about the connection between devotion to God and patriotism. During the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, deities, saints, elders, women, and youth gathered, and we witnessed the awakened consciousness of the nation. This Maha Kumbh was a celebration of unity, where the faith of 1.4 billion Indians came together at this single event."
The scale of Maha Kumbh 2025
Reflecting on the scale of the event, PM Modi noted how millions of people from across the country traveled to Prayagraj for the ritual bath at the confluence (Sangam) of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers.
"For the past 45 days, I have observed daily how millions of people from every corner of the country have been heading towards the banks of the Sangam. The tide of emotions for bathing at the Sangam has been continuously rising. Every devotee was focused on one thing—bathing at the Sangam. The confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers filled every devotee with enthusiasm, energy, and faith."
Prayagraj’s mythological significance
PM Modi also mentioned the mythological and spiritual importance of Shringverpur, a site in Prayagraj associated with Lord Ram and Nishadraj.
"In the same region of Prayagraj, there is the sacred area of Shringverpur, a symbol of unity, harmony, and love, where Lord Ram met Nishadraj. This meeting in our history is like a confluence of devotion and goodwill. This pilgrimage site in Prayagraj continues to inspire us with lessons of unity and harmony."
Maha Kumbh 2025 witnessed millions of devotees participating in rituals, prayers, and holy dips, reinforcing its cultural and religious significance.
