JAMMU: A team of cops recovered a cache of ammunition from a forest area in Jammu and Kashmir’s
Samba district
on Tuesday.
“The police party — led by Samba DySP, along with SHO and Chilla Danga BPP in-charge — was patrolling the area when it received information about a
terrorist hideout
in Kawala forest area of Chilla Danga,” said a Samba Police spokesperson.
“Acting on the information, the team conducted a thorough search operation and seized ammunition and explosives concealed inside a cavity between a tree and a rock. The recovery included 29 live rounds, one AK rifle magazine and explosive powder,” the spokesperson said.
A case was registered at Samba PS and a probe was launched, the spokesperson added.
