Cowboys Locker Room Reacts To 'Schotty' 'Juice'

The Brian Schottenheimer era has gotten off to a very positive start, and the locker room is loving it.

We have heard all offseason of the impact that Dallas Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer has made, and it is clear that the locker room is feeding off his personality.

With a clear emphasis on relationships and building a culture that the franchise hasn't seen for years, the Cowboys, at least off the field, have seen monumental changes, and no one can say that it isn't for the better.

Whether or not that translates to on-field success or not is unknown, but according to Cowboys COO Stephen Jones, everything so far is clicking inside The Star.

"The energy in our building is just amazing in terms of what (Brian Schottenheimer) has brought with his staff," Jones said. "All the players are responding to it. It’s exciting to see all these guys come together."

Indeed, for as rookie running back Jaydon Blue said, "I love his energy. He matches our energy. He comes in the meeting room with juice, and he likes to have fun.''

There is no doubt that the vibe around the franchise is completely different from a year ago. Yes, the lame-duck, blow-it-up was key to the poor vibe, but this feels a whole lot different.

But now, after a free agency period that saw solid starting-caliber players walk through the doors, plus what many are calling a great draft haul that had an emphasis on getting the right characters in the locker room, Schotty and his loving personality will be tasked with bringing it all together.

Yes, it is only early in the offseason program, but there's no denying the energy shift that has taken place at The Star, and that has Cowboy Nation in a bullish mood, with OTAs just around the corner.

"I'm a very on-the-go coach. I think you will see that with our staff. They're very on-the-go, and great energy, great juice," Schottenheimer said. "That's what it's about."

With the coaching staff hires, plus the players signed, it all points to a positive offseason for the Cowboys, which is one we haven't seen too often over the years.

But the time for talk is now over. It's time to see it all mesh together on the field.
