Speaking at the ET Now Global Business Summit, Periera said India needs to continue the work it is carrying out in infra development and reforms to maintain its growth trajectory and economic growth.
"The future of the world is in India. I have no doubt about that. India is a rising economic power and a major global power. As long as it continues to reform and invests in education and infra, I sincerely think that India is the next big power. This is also led by the vibrancy, innovation, and entrepreneurship building in the country."
Asked about the protectionist stance across many countries in the world, including the US under the Trump administration, he said there is a need to maintain multilateral dialogue as well as global trade. "This is what we saw PM Narendra Modi attempt at the White House. This is what India should do." Asked about the challenges to the global south and developing countries, he said there is a need for them to keep up reforms and remove barriers.
