Goa court holds man guilty for 2017 rape-murder of Irish-British woman

A Goa court on Friday found a 31-year-old man guilty of raping and murdering Irish-British citizen Danielle McLaughin in 2017.

Vikram Varma, the legal representative for the victim's mother Andrea Brannigan, confirmed the verdict, according to news agency PTI. The court is scheduled to announce the punishment on February 17. According to Varma, the prosecution has requested the court to impose the "maximum sentence" on the convict.
