Drew Barrymore had a color named after her! Here's how to decorate with the happy hue

You know you're a big deal when you get a color named after you. But even Drew Barrymore was shocked when the design company Pantone (which is famous for its "color of the year" reveals) announced they created an official hue bearing her name in honor of her 50th birthday. Talk about a great gift!

What color did Pantone choose? Drew Barrymore Yellow is a pastel that's as cheerful and warm as the talk-show host herself. Interestingly, this shade has also been popping up all over the design world, in part thanks to KitchenAid, which named Butter Yellow its own 2025 Color of the Year.

Spring is coming up soon, which makes now the ideal time to start decorating with this lovely color. (We're guessing it's only a matter of time before Barrymore's Beautiful housewares collection adds it to the lineup!) But don't limit butter yellow to Easter. The shade is surprisingly neutral and can make other colors like red and blue really pop. It also works well with darker wood tones. If you're hesitant to go all-in on a trending color (I get it!), take baby steps. Instead of buying a new yellow sofa, start with a throw pillow, a mug — or any of the other sunny, Barrymore-inspired finds below.

Who needs extra caffeine when you have a zingy yellow mug to kick-start your day? I can say with total confidence that this cup will brighten up even the dreariest morning. The interior is a pretty peach color for double the fun.

A vase like this should be on any design-lover's wish list because it combines some of the coolest trends we're seeing right now: colored glass and curvy, sculptural shapes. To amp up the yellowy goodness, fill this vessel with matching blooms, like yellow tulips, garden roses or carnations.

Perhaps you prefer something more subtle. Try a ticking stripe! Originally designed as an ultra-durable casing for mattresses and pillows, ticking fabric became a designer favorite for its slender stripes. These pillow covers feature the classic pattern plus fringed edges, and you can easily pop them over throw pillows you already own to try out the butter yellow trend.

Shower, ahem, your bathroom with joyful color. Like hand towels, bath mats are a fun way to play with a trendy color or pattern without committing to a major makeover or big piece of furniture. And this one's got a cute scalloped border that makes the pastel center pop.

Warmer tones like yellow can cozy up a room, and this washed microfiber duvet comes with decorative bows at the bottom edge for extra flair. You also get two matching pillow cases, but if you really want to have fun with the color, try mixing and matching sheets and pillow cases from other bedding sets you already own. Butter would look amazing with soft blue or gray sheets.

Square pillows can be such squares, can they not? Spherical pillows, on the other hand, are totally unexpected and add a playful note to any sofa setup. This boucle version is hand-woven from recycled polyester yard that'll resist fading — meaning you can use it on your patio or porch!

This is for all your adventurous decorators out there. To get the fresh effect of a color like Disco Nap, you don't even need to paint a whole room. Instead, focus on something smaller, like a piece of furniture, window trim or inside a bookcase. A little of this shade goes a long way!

This list wouldn't be complete without KitchenAid's butter-hued mixer, which launched in February. Inspired by kitchens from the 1950s and '60s, it has a satin finish and is almost the exact shade of melting butter on toast. Delicious!

Okay, so a new color is probably not a good enough reason to trade in your KitchenAid stand mixer. Instead, bring the dreamy, creamy color home with this quilted cover, which comes in, yes, the brand's official shade of Butter Yellow.
